JYS stands for Jackson Yee Studio. When transcribed with Chinese Pinyin, it reads Zhe Wei Ais. Using one phonetic system to annotate another alphabet, the work features irregular handwritten strokes and ink splatter textures. Distinctive and original, it subverts conventional elegance and breaks free from the stiff stereotype of an official studio.
The studio also transliterates JYS into the Chinese name Jian Weisi. Credited as the producer on many of its works, it acts as a personalized moniker.
